EMDR is a psychotherapy that helps people to heal from the emotional distress that they are experiencing from past experiences. Often times these past experiences contribute to people struggling with feelings of anxiety, sadness, and low self-esteem in their present lives. These past experiences contribute to individuals forming beliefs about themselves that are self-defeating, and hold them back from fully enjoying and participating in their lives.
EMDR is also indicated in helping people who are suffering from chronic pain issues. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporate elements of many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions to relieve many types of psychological stress.
In my experience with using EMDR as a treatment modality, I have found EMDR to benefit individuals who have not had successful therapy experiences in the past. EMDR helps people to connect what they know, with how they feel. It helps people to put past experiences, in the past.

Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems Therapy
IFS is a psychotherapy approach that identifies and addresses many sub-personalities within a person's mental system. These parts consist of wounded and painful emotions such as anger and shame that IFS focuses on connecting with and unburdening from the individuals system. It is incredibly helpful at restoring mental balance and harmony within. IFS is a structured therapeutic approach that most people find is helpful at organizing the internal chaos that they experience in their internal system.

Brainspotting is a powerful treatment method that works by identifying and processing through sources of emotional pain, trauma, negative self-referencing beliefs and addiction issues. People who participate in Brainspotting often report a sense of distancing from experiences that in the past would come into their awareness and consume their emotions. They are able to think about those experiences without the intense emotional connection that the experience previously held.
