Individual Mental Health and Substance Use Counseling
On a Professional Level
I am a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, as well as an authorized Substance Use Disorder Counselor. I have been in the field for more than 10 years, providing care in a variety of treatment settings including: community based residential programs, in-home and outpatient mental health counseling services .for adults, adolescents and children.
In addition to my licenses, I am a certified Brainspotting therapist, specializing in providing counseling for attachment issues. I also specialize in helping individuals to reprocess traumatic experiences, phobias and self-esteem issues using EMDR and Brainspotting..
I achieved a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 2006. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Silver Lake College, and completed the AODA certificate program at Moraine Park.
Entering into a Counseling Relationship can be a daunting experience for most people. I am committed to providing each of my patients with a counseling environment that promotes safety, compassion, respect and validation.
I believe in individualized treatment plans, and providing people with consistent, quality care.
On a Personal Level
I believe that it is important for me to practice what I am recommending. I take a holistic approach to self-care, including focusing on maintaining my physical and emotional health by maintaining balance through nutrition, relaxation and exercise. I enjoy yoga., practicing mindfulness, as well as getting a good amount of physical activity interacting with my family. I enjoy animals, and have been known to have wide variety of furry and feathered family members! I believe that laughter is healing, and am known for my sense of humor.
